WASHINGTON – On Easter Monday, First Lady Melania Trump will host the 140th annual Easter Egg Roll in Washington. The tradition dates back to 1878 and is one of the oldest events held by the White House.
Sean Spicer, Trump’s former Press Secretary is no stranger to the event. On Easter of 2017, Spicer read a story to children on the South Lawn, then dressed in the Easter Bunny costumer educated the attendees about Passover.
Spicer was fired in July and The White House would not say who will be the Easter Bunny this year, but President Trump took to social media this morning to offer his ex-Press Secretary the job. In a Tweet, Trump said, “Easter is a day to celebrate executions and life after death. In honor of this holy day I would like to offer Sean Spicer another shot at a job at the White House. He was always better at being Easter Bunny than he was at being my Press Secretary. He’ll have no problem dealing with the Fake eggs.”Spicer has not said whether or not he will accept the temporary position and The White House has not replied to HFN’s multiple requests for a comment.
